Attention all Seniors & Parents! Jostens will be here on Monday, October 7th to do a presentation for graduation to the students during first period. Students will be called down after the announcements to report to the cafeteria. All Seniors are encouraged to attend.

There will be over 125 college and universities across the country. Learn about choosing a college, choosing a major and applying for financial aid.

The Sports Marketing Class has created Somonauk's own "The Shirt".
The goal of "The Shirt" is to drive community involvement alongside the District, showing support in all aspects of what we do here at CUSD #432!
The shirt is only going to be printed once, and not again. Next year will be the second edition of "The Shirt" and so on and so on.
If interested in purchasing "The Shirt", you can do so online or with an order form. The class is planning on selling a majority of the month of October depending on how sales go.

Students at Somonauk High School earned academic honors from the College Board First Generation & Rural Schools National Recognition Programs. The programs celebrate the hard work of thousands of high school students nationwide to help them showcase their strong academic performance.
At Somonauk High School, 4 students were awarded the following College Board Recognitions: Bailey Brassard - First Generation Award, Kaitlyn Grabow, First Generation and Rural Schools Awards, Weston Hannibal - Rural Schools Award, Gavin Lorentzen - First Generation Award.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate our students and recognize them for the great work they’ve been doing. We’re proud of their strong academic performance in the classroom and on College Board assessments like the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and AP® Exams,” said Eric Benson, Somonauk High School Principal. “There’s so much that makes our students unique, and this honor reinforces their individuality and achievements as assets for their future.”
Eligible students must meet the following criteria to qualify:
· Earn a GPA of B+ (equal to at least 3.3 or 87%-89%) or higher.
· PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 assessment scores that are within the top 10% of assessment takers in each state for each award program or earned a score of 3 or higher on 2 or more AP Exams by the end of 10th grade.

SENIOR SUNRISE
Jacob Meyer, SHS Ag teacher, is excited to return to his roots at Somonauk High School, where he will be teaching in the very classroom where he first discovered his passion for Agriculture Education. A graduate of Joliet Junior College and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Jacob's journey in agriculture has come full circle.His return to Somonauk High School promises to inspire and guide students with the same passion that once fueled his own educational journey.
SHS is excited to welcome our new Agriculture teacher, Kelsie Jordal, who will be splitting their time between Somonauk and Leland. A proud graduate of Indian Creek, Kishwaukee College, and Oklahoma State University, they bring a strong academic foundation to their role. An interesting fact about her is that she are a fifth-generation member of their family farm, which has deeply shaped their passion for agriculture.

Anne Russman, our new Biology teacher, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the classroom. A proud graduate of Sycamore High School, she pursued her Bachelor's degree in Biology at Framingham State University. Her dedication to education is further evidenced by her advanced studies at Aurora University and NLU. One of the highlights of her academic journey was studying abroad in Kenya during a summer, which enriched her perspective on both science and the world.
