Mrs. Miller's 7th grade Academy class for the first quarter was focused on the essential skills of being a good human being. They studied ways in which to become highly effective teens, donated time and effort into making the school grounds clean, added the beginning steps of a kindness rock garden, made more room for the bike riders to park their bikes each day, created a kindness newsletter, and started a campaign to get new recycling bins in our building. The "Kindness Crew" wrote letters to Groot Industries explaining the need for new bins for the classrooms. Their letters were received and a representative from the company, Steve, called Mrs. Miller to find out more about what the students wanted. Groot went out of their way to find 20 new bins and donated them to our school. Last week Groot dropped off the bins to some VERY excited 7th graders! Stay tuned to find out what the 2nd quarter Kindness Crew has in the works!
